Rise Against Hunger: A Meal-Packing Experience

Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization, is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. With locations across the U.S. and five international offices, the organization provides immediate nourishment for those facing hunger today and implements sustainable solutions that will lift entire communities for years to come. Rise Against Hunger has facilitated volunteer meal packaging of more than 540 million meals to be distributed to countries around the world.

Rise Against Hunger Experience events provide a fun, educational way for groups to literally lend a hand to people facing hunger across the globe. The event at St. John on Sunday, September 25, will combine an assembly line process with an educational experience to not only make an impact worldwide, but to touch the lives of those who volunteer.

Forty individuals are needed to volunteer for the assembly line. Additionally, seven or eight people are needed to help with set-up and break-down. Volunteers may be as young as four years old.

So, what are we packing? They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of people worldwide. Volunteers are the heart of their mission to end hunger, and they could not send millions of meals around the globe each year without people like you who offer a hand.

In conjunction with the Meal Packing Experience, we are collecting monetary donations to support Rise Against Hunger's mission of ending hunger. Sign up and/or donate using the button below.
