TOURS or VISITS

May I bring a large group to the church for a tour?
Yes, but please notify the parish office at least one week in advance to be sure there are no conflicts. Docents for tours may be scheduled thru the church office.

Can anyone visit the church or the cemetery?
The church and the cemetery grounds are open to the public Tuesday-Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Gates are locked at 4pm. Vehicles left in the parking lot after 4pm may be locked in overnight.

Can school groups visit the church?
Yes, but please call the church office to schedule your visit.


SERVICES in the EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Can Non-Episcopalians attend services at St John?
All who are searching or know and love God, are welcome.

Who can receive Communion at St John in the Wilderness?
All may receive who have been baptized with water, in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.


WEDDINGS

What are the wedding policies at St John in the Wilderness?
  • The bride and/or groom or a member of their immediate family must be a member of this parish.
  • Weddings are not performed on holiday weekends or during Lent.
  • Pre-marriage counseling is required.
  • All weddings plans must be approved by the Rector.

DIRECTIONS to ST JOHN in the WILDERNESS

The historic church and graveyard are located in the Village of Flat Rock, North Carolina. From Hendersonville, NC take Greenville Highway (U S 225 South [old 25 South) which will lead you towards Flat Rock. The church is located on the northwest corner of Rutledge Drive and Greenville Highway.
