May I attend church services at St. John and not be a member or an Episcopalian?

All who are searching or know and love God, are welcome.

What is necessary to participate in the service or communion?

Anyone may receive communion who has been baptized with water, in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

My young child has not been baptized.  How is this done?  Would the same procedure be true for adult baptism?

Contact the clergy for the steps necessary.  Baptisms are by water but not with immersion.  Normally baptisms are held during a Sunday service.  Adults and children follow the same steps and may be baptized at the same service.

What are the steps to become a member of St. John in the Wilderness?

Make an appointment with the Rector and discuss your desires for membership.  You may request a transfer of your Letter of Membership from your previous parish.

If I wanted to become an Episcopalian what should I do?

Let the clergy know that you wish to become a member of the Episcopal Church.  You may attend a yearly Inquirer's Class held just prior to our Bishop's Visitation.  Usually that visit is held once a year.  At that time you may be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church.
